Domino 7 Administration: 2: Building the Infrastructure

Students will install and configure a basic infrastructure with a single domain using an existing deployment plan. Students will also set up replication and mail routing in the single-domain environment.

Installing and setting up the first Domino server and administrator

• Designing a hierarchical naming scheme

Setting up servers in the Domino domain, including:

• Creating additional certifiers for servers and users per an established naming scheme

Adding Notes workstations to the Domino domain, including:

• Creating internal Domino user IDs per an established naming scheme
• Installing the Notes client software
• Setting up the Notes workstation

• Specifying desktop settings using policies
• Backing up ID files

Setting up the administration environment, including:

• Specifying administration preferences
• Allowing and restricting server access

Setting up the replication schedule to synchronize Domino system databases in the domain
