Course Overview

'Coaching Using NLP' shows you how to recognise patterns in thinking and behaviour and the implications for coaching situations. It will enable you to elicit a compelling outcome for the person or people you are coaching by raising your clients' awareness of how they are creating the results that they both want and don't want.

Audience

Anyone who wishes to explore NLP and how it works in the context of coaching.Introductory level course -geared towards those who need an introduction to the subject and assumes limited or no previous experience.

Skills Gained

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • recognise congruence and incongruence in yourself and others
  • recognise limiting patterns in language and to challenge them
  • build a climate of trust and respect through rapport
  • give feedback in a way that is accepted and that leads to improved performance
  • benefit from feedback no matter how it is given and no matter who the giver
  • find meaning in your own and others' non-verbal behaviour
  • coach clients to appreciate situations from different perspectives
  • influence by example.

Course Outline

Day 1

  • Understanding what NLP is and how it works in the context of coaching in raising awareness and modelling excellence
  • Setting and coaching well-formed compelling outcomes
  • Clean questions that elicit the patterns of behaviour and thinking in the client
  • Beliefs of excellence and how to implement them so that you release the true potential of your clients and help them to subsequently coach themselves examples:
  • We have all the resources that we need to achieve what we want
  • There is no failure, only feedback
  • Everyone is unique
  • There is an unconscious positive intention behind every behaviour towards us
  • What we recognise in others mirrors structures that we hold within ourselves.

Day 2

  • Giving and receiving feedback in a way that leads to continuous learning
  • Awareness of the filters in thinking and communicating that can raise clients' understanding of the choices that they are making
  • Non-verbal behaviour, including eye-accessing cues
  • Precision questions and how to use them in the context of personal development
  • Language patterns.
