Course Overview Newly appointed managers and those aspiring to management positions often express concern that they are not fully aware of what is expected of them in the role, and how to make the transition from being one of the team to being its leader. This course enables first time managers to understand what management means, and provides the necessary basic knowledge, skills and techniques. It deals with the function of management, the roles managers need to undertake to achieve objectives through their staff, as well as how to get the best from the people for whom they are responsible. Participants assess their own skills and knowledge gaps, and identify an action plan for personal development in the role of manager.
