Course Overview Part 2 covers fire safety management documentation & how to develop fire training packages in the workplace with the opportunity of creating a training programme to suit your organisational needs and an understanding of fire engineering solutions. Audience This is a course designed for health & safety professionals and managers nominated with fire safety management responsibilities keen to gain fire safety management knowledge, a professional based qualification accredited at The IFE Intermediate certificate level and fulfils the academic requirements of The Institution of Fire Engineers Intermediate Certificate level (Technician grade TIFireE). Technician grade membership of the IFE (TIFire) can then be applied for. Skills Gained Have knowledge of UK fire statistics - Be aware of arson in the workplace
- Keep fire records
- Oversee fire training and fire evacuation drills
- Control fire warden schemes
- Design and develop during the course fire awareness/induction and fire warden training presentations using PowerPoint software with access to electronic fire resources
Fire engineering solutions - Have an understanding of BS 7974
- Know of various fixed fire fighting and fire engineering systems available
- Consider different fire engineering solutions
Examinations Successful candidates completing both Part 1 and Part 2 of the Fire Technician programme will receive a joint IFE/CHSS accredited (IFE Intermediate Certificate level) and will be considered, upon application to the Institute, for membership at Technician grade (TIFireE) subject to the IFE membership rules within one year of successfully completing the course.
