Course Overview The objective of this course is to build self-confidence and self-esteem. Recognise own strengths. Understand and overcome personal doubts and fears and enhance personal performance. Audience Anyone who wants to develop a positive yet realistic view of themselves and their abilities, so leading to an enhanced confidence and level of performance. Course Outline Self-Image: how do you view yourself and your abilities? exploring what others really think of you; building self-respect; identifying your comfort zones; determining what you want to be. Overcoming Dark Clouds: emphasising personal strengths; giving yourself credit; focusing on things you know you can do; applauding yourself for efforts rather than seeking out failures; think-win; recognising that you can't always be perfect. Taking Risks: viewing new experiences as opportunities to learn rather than being win or lose situations; opening up new avenues for success rather than roads to failure. Using Self-Talk: being your own counsellor; encouraging yourself to succeed; developing positive thought patterns; how to motivate yourself; making commitments to yourself; moving from 'can't do' to 'can do' to 'I've done it'. Gaining Support: how to ask for help whilst maintaining self-esteem; developing a positive and assertive attitude. Self-Evaluation: being objective about what you have done; having an internal focus on your achievements; avoiding inner turmoil; sifting the opinions of others; building confidence and self-esteem. Action Plan: participants plan and discuss what they will do on return to work.
