Audience

The course can be tailored to cater either for those who have never written travel features before, or those who have some experience but want to hone their technique and improve their success rate.

Course Outline

  • The course covers all aspects of travel writing including: finding a subject and a market
  • the different types of travel article and how to research and write them
  • and how to put yourself in your pieces. It is highly practical, with exercises in writing and structuring articles. There will be plenty of feedback from the tutor.- Coming up with ideas that no-one else has thought of
  • Spotting markets, and finding the right ideas for the right editors
  • Styles of feature writing, from info-packed surveys to hotel reviews and finely-crafted personal pieces
  • Finding your voice. How, by finding the most effective means of putting yourself into your articles
  • How you can turn yourself into a unique property
