Course Overview

This course takes an in-depth look at commissioning and/or ghost features from staff and management who are not journalism trained.

Audience

Experienced editors, as well as those who have attended our Improving House Journals workshop and want to review their progress.

Not for:

Inexperienced staff.

  • Ways to improve contributed copy
  • Developing and training correspondents
  • The value of style-sheets for contributors
  • How to monitor reader reaction
  • Coping with abrupt management change
  • Planning pages and issues
  • Fresh ideas on content

A look at illustrations and how to improve the visual side. Design: a top art director assesses each magazine and makes suggestions for improvements.
