Course Overview

An all-round introduction to programming in RPGIV on the series

RPGIV is the latest generation of RPG on the iSeries, superseding RPG/400. There are many new techniques available, which when exploited, provide programmers with far more capabilities when compared to earlier versions.

Audience

Application development staff who will be using RPGIV to develop new applications, or maintain existing applications written in RPGIV on the iSeries.

This course will enable delegates to:

  • Code an enquiry program in RPGIV.
  • Define the role of database and device files within RPGIV progams.
  • Identify the specification types used with RPGIV.
  • Use RPGIV programming structures and operation codes.

iSeries System Facilities(ISSFC)Introduction to Programming(ITP)or equivalent experience.

This course helps delegates to prepare for the IBM Certified Specialist - AS/400 RPGIV Developer, test 267 and the IBM Certified Specialist - AS/400 RPG Programmer, test 266.
