Course Overview The application of psychology across many areas of HR and management practice is widely recognised. This workshop focuses specifically on the application of those psychological theories and tools that can be used to underpin and enhance the coaching process. It centres on those key frameworks that now form the bedrock of many coaching courses that are on offer, providing the participant with the opportunity to become an informed coach and buyer of coaching services, as well as being equipped with an additional set of resources that can enhance his or her own coaching practice. Audience Coaches and managers with some experience and knowledge of coaching practice, who want to enhance the performance of themselves and others via the application of sound psychological theory and techniques.Advanced level course - for those wishing to develop existing skills/knowledge to a more advanced level. Skills Gained By the end of the course, you will be able to: - appreciate how useful an understanding of psychology is within the context of coaching
- outline the key psychological traditions that inform coaching practice
- list and describe the most widely used psychological models in coaching practice
- recognise the range of psychological barriers (emotional, cognitive, behavioural) that can inhibit performance
- identify which psychological approach might be useful to address specific issues presented in coaching
- evaluate and advise on the selection and application of different psychological models, tools and frameworks within your own coaching context.
