Course Overview This five day course introduces MC/ServiceGuard 11.04 running under HP-UX 11.0 as a tool that system administrators can use to increase system availability. The topics and labs provide students with practical learning experiences. This course describes the concepts of high availability and fault tolerance and discuses hardware solutions to achieve optimal availability. Other topics discussed within the framework of high availability are networking with MC/ServiceGuard, backups, and troubleshooting. Also featured are topics related to designing, developing, and monitoring MC/ServiceGuard clusters. Prerequisites HP-UX System and Network Administration I (H3064S) and HP-UX System and Network Administration II (H3065S) and Hands On with Logical Volume Manager, MirrorDisk/UX, and JFS (H6285S) Note: HP-UX System Administration for Experienced UNIX Administrators (H5875S) is equivalent to H3064S + H3065S The student should be well versed in UNIX and be able to perform the tasks of a system administrator.
