This course is designed to provide hands-on experience using NetWare 6.5 features that illustrate how NetWare 6.5 lowers an enterprise's total cost of ownership (TCO), elevates administrator and user productivity, and enhances business productivity. This course is the advanced server management course for the NetWare 6.5 Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) curriculum.

Audience

The intended audience for this course includes Novell customers who:

  • Have administration experience with NetWare.
  • Meet the prerequisites for this course.
  • Intend to achieve Novell's CNE 6.5 certification.

As part of the classroom instruction, students work through many lab exercises to help apply course concepts. The exercises also help reinforce proficiency with NetWare 6.5 migration and installation utilities as well as the various developer services.

  • Consolidate servers.
  • Troubleshoot network performance.
  • Troubleshoot server performance.

Prerequisites

Students should meet the following prerequisite criteria:

  • Knowledge or experience with NetWare 6.5
  • Knowledge or experience with eDirectory
  • Knowledge or experience managing NetWare storage

In addition, students should be familiar with network hardware and have a conceptual knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, topologies, and various protocols.
