Course Overview Introduction to the z/OS Workload Manager and the new RMF Reports. The Workload Manager is a significant improvement to manage your z/OS system and will, therefore, require your involvement as you begin to exploit the new functions of your system. Audience All personnel working in the OS/390 or z/OS environment should consider attending. This includes those involved with the major subsystems, such as IMS, CICS and DB2, as well as the MVS performance analyst and performance administrator. Anyone interested in updating their RMF skills with the many new RMF Goal mode workload-related reports will also benefit from attending. Prerequisites - Understand basic MVS / OS/390 / z/OS operation, such as job flow through JES, job scheduling paging, swapping, dispatching controls, I/O scheduling.
- Have a basic knowledge of the purpose of the System Resource Managers function in managing system workloads.
- Use the RMF performance-related reports to identify system performance problems.
