Course Overview

Address all aspects of configuring the customizable components of IBM Tivoli Netcool/Realtime Active Dashboards (RAD). Undertake practical exercises throughout the course, to learn the foundations of creating dashboards and utilizing the various components within RAD. Focus on step-by-step use of charts, tables, custom canvases and RAD layout. Start with a preinstalled copy of RAD and OMNIbus; no installation is done in the course.!

Audience

This is an advanced course for network and system management developers and engineers who create and administer management dashboards using RAD.

Understand how to display each of the components in the dashboards to users

  • Configure charts in RAD
  • Configure tables/scorecards in RAD
  • Create custom canvases in RAD and understand how to present these to various users within RAD

Prerequisites

You should complete:

  • IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus 7.0 User (TN010)
  • IBM Tivoli Netcool/RAD 3.0 Fundamentals (TN190)

You should have:

  • Netcool/OMNIbus proficiency (TN010)
    • Understanding of Web development skills, particularly Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML)
    • Solid fundamentals in UNIX environment administration
  • Fundamental SQL skills
  • IBM Tivoli Netcool/RAD 3.0 Fundamentals (TN190) or equivalent knowledge
