Course Overview

This workshop will give you the skills to confidently seek and respond to competitive tenders of all types, from a simple two page quotation, to a tender issued under European Union guidelines, and the e-sourcing process.

Audience

Those who are involved in, and/or who manage the preparation and presentation of responses to requests for tender.

Skills Gained

To provide you and your organisation, with the skills necessary to identify competitive tendering opportunities and respond effectively, to win business profitably.

You will be able to determine the different categories and contexts of tenders and invitations, by identifying critical success factors and benefits available to design and deliver a persuasive response. You will develop your creative presentation skills as well as creating a project team briefing strategy to ensure that you are using all your resources effectively.

Course Outline

  • Determine the different categories of tender and how to respond - the commercial context procurement
  • Decide whether to bid or not - is it necessary to tender to gain the contract?
  • Prepare an initial response - an expression of interest (selling document)
  • Recognise public and private sector issues
  • Decide on the proposal project team - its structure, leadership and process
  • Deal with the management of the tender project
  • Prepare the business case
  • Prepare the proposal document with impact
  • Develop the presentation
  • Write the covering letter
  • Debrief and plan for future bids
