- Manage multi-data control updates in the scope of a single database transaction. Share a single data buffer among multiple data controls and presentation styles, and Synchronize data among data controls across a distributed session.
- Implement StaticHyperLink, PictureHyperLink, TrackBar, ProgressBar, and MonthCalendar controls as user objects in a user interface.
- Write DataWindow Expressions to conditionally change DataObject Properties, Use PowerScript to code a Multiple Table update from within a Single DataWindow Object & write bullet proof data entry validation routines using validation rules and DataWindow control event processing.
- Implement a dynamic reporting facility by creating a DataWindows dynamically from user entered SQL statements.
- Implement Tree View & List View Controls & Context Menus in an Explorer user interface.
- Implement Drag and Drop technologies into the Tree View and List View Explorer user interface.
- Simplify an overly complex user interface by implementing a Tab Control with multiple Tab Pages.
- Implement a robust standards based mechanism for error handling in a PowerBuilder application using java-like Try Catch blocks and Exception objects.
- Create a Pipeline object to dynamically distribute data between two databases.
- Demonstrate the capabilities of the XML DataWindow object technologies. The user will be able to export and import XML documents into a DataWindow objects using the DataWindow Painter and Preview painter as well as through code.
- Implement Web DataWindows into a web page and deploy to a Web Server (EAServer). Call DataWindow functions on the Web DataWindow to save modified data to the database.
