  • Describe the hardware for the controller and expansion trays
  • Describe the overall architecture of the controller and SBODs

Module 2 - Hardware Installation of the Sun StorageTek 6140 Array

  • List the basic steps for installing the Sun StorageTek 6140
  • Employ proper cabling techniques and methodologies
  • Follow proper power on/off sequence
  • Set a static IP address for the controller
  • Connect to the Serial Port Service Interface
  • Utilize hardware compatibility matrix to evaluate system set-up
  • Cable hosts directly or through a Fibre Channel (FC) switch to the storage system

  • Describe the Sun StorageTek Common Array Manager (CAM)

  • Describe additional provisioning components and how they relate to volumes

Module 5 - SANtricity Overview and Installation

  • Explain the function of the main components in SANtricity
  • List the advantages and disadvantages of the in-band and out-of-band methods of managing your storage system
  • Install SANtricity Storage Manager
  • Add devices to the SANtricity Enterprise Management Window with auto-discovery and add device option
