System Administration for Maximo 6

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to the System Administration applications in IBM Maximo 6. System administrators use these applications to do the following tasks:

• Administer and configure other Maximo 6 applications
• Set values (MAXVARS)
• Specify security settings
• Configure the database System Administration for Maximo 6 shows you how to:
• Set up, control, and maintain the Maximo 6 environment
• Modify your environment as changes occur at your facility

Audience

This course is intended for anyone involved in system administration including implementation, security, application configuration, and application maintenance. This course does not cover application tailoring or screen customization.

After completing this course, students should be able to:

• Access the administration and configuration modules
• Create organizations and sites
• Set application options
• Add and modify users and security groups
• Use security groups to define access to organizations and site-specific data
• Use security groups to define access to applications and their menus
• Configure GL accounts and currency

Prerequisites

• Navigation & Querying in IBM Maximo 6or demonstrable working experience with IBM MAXIMO 5.x or greater
• Work Management in IBM Maximo 6 (for EAM)or demonstrable working experience with IBM MAXIMO 5.x or greater
