Course Overview

To provide delegates with knowledge about the tools and techniques used by hackers and skills to use appropriate penetration testing methodologies.

Audience

This course is designed for anyone with responsibility for securing the network or systems of an organisation, including System and Network Administrators, Security personnel and or consultants.

Skills Gained

This course will enable delegates to:

• Recognise the legal and ethical issues associated with information security.
• Describe methodologies used to compromise internet-connected systems.
• Perform active and passive information gathering about a target company.
• Map networks and vulnerabilites.
• Know where to find tools to exploit recognised vulnerabilities.
• Map, scan, attack and compromise a model enterprise network.

Prerequisites

User level knowledge of Unix and NT/2000, plus administrator level knowledge of one. A recognised network qualification and strong experience of TCP/IP. Working knowledge of security principles and firewalls.

Examinations

Subject to the successful completion of the written Certification Exam included in the course, delegates will be certified.
