Course Overview The workshop is designed to provide Delegates with the knowledge and skills to understand the principles and methodology of risk assessment and how to take a structured approach to the conduct of general workplace risk assessments with confidence. Risk assessment is central to effective management of health and safety and if conducted properly will play a key part in ensuring the health and safety of anyone who may be affected by your work activities. Audience This one-day workshop is aimed at any body who has a responsibility to manage health and safety or who has been appointed by their employer to conduct general workplace risk assessments. Skills Gained By the end of this course you will be able to: - Appreciate the moral, legal and financial reasons for reducing injury and ill health resulting from work activities
- Understand the relationship between hazard, risk, risk assessment and safe systems of work
- Understand the importance, and application of the risk control hierarchy
- Be able to identify the different types of risk assessments required in their workplace
- Be able to apply the principles and methodology of general risk assessment to given work situations
