Audience This course is designed to teach experienced Solaris System Administrators the administration differences between previous versions of Solaris and Solaris 10. It will cover the main features that are either new or different in Solaris 10 and some significant features that have been included in recent versions of Solaris. Skills Gained On completion of this course the delegate will be able to: - Configure stringent password controls for user accounts
- Configure RBAC for system management tasks by operators / users
- Define how the Service Management Facility manages various system services
- Apply NFS version 4 functions to shared file systems and manage access by NFS client type
- Use the Solaris Volume Manager to create, modify and manage Logical Volumes and RAID with the Solaris system
- Apply the Solaris 10 ZFS storage management facility within a ZFS storage pool
- Define the procedures to create, activate, boot & shutdown, access and manage a Zone
- Configure and deploy the Dtrace utility
