Course Overview

Gain an understanding of the Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) features, environment, and new terminology. Students will learn about the new. Job Scheduling Console and how the new Time Zone feature enhances TWS.

Audience

New Tivoli Workload Scheduler users seeking proficiency in the TWS 8.2 environment on Unix and Windows NT platforms.

Existing schedulers, operators and their supervisors/managers at sites converting from previous versions of Tivoli Workload Scheduler. Anyone who needs detailed guidance on how to use Tivoli Workload Scheduler 8.2.

Prerequisites

Basic understanding of production management and "batch processing" scheduling.

Knowledge of current production job processing flow in the local environment where Tivoli Workload Scheduler will be implemented.

Knowledge of file navigation, file editing, and command prompt actions for the operating system to be used (Unix or NT).
