Course Overview

This course is an introduction to the use of SQL (Structured Query Language) commands and procedures for querying IBM MAXIMO's 5.2 database. Students learn how to use Oracle's SQL*Plus to identify and locate tables, columns, and data in the database. They progress through an increasingly complex set of queries, which ultimately are useful for locating and analyzing maintenance data, and for writing reports.

Skills Gained

After completing this course, students should be able to accomplish the following:

  • identify the structure of the IBm MAXIMO 5.2 database and pinpoint the location of the data in tables and columns
  • use the SQL*Plus application to connect to the MAXIMO 5.2 database outside of MAXIMO
  • write, edit, save, and execute a SQL query statement
  • use SQL to create views and indexes

Prerequisites

You should attend the Working with MAXIMO course before attending this course. We assume that you have an understanding of MAXIMO, can navigate through its applications,and understand its basic functionality and concepts.
