Managing and Monitoring the Insight Control Environment

Course Overview

This 4-day course equips students with the skills and knowledge to plan, deploy and configure the management and monitoring capabilities of Insight Control Environment. Students will spend the majority of the time learning to use HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) for managing systems and performing collections, along with inventory and fault management. The course will also cover the integration of various options within Insight Control Environment for performance, patch management and virtualization.

• Learn the applications, plug-ins and tools available for Insight Control Environment.
• Administer the inventory and perform collections and fault detection.
• Install and configure tools for remote support.
• Perform an installation and configuration of HP Systems Insight Manager.

Prerequisites

• Completion of Introduction to HP Systems Instight Manager WBT U8695AAE
• Familiarity with general networking terminology and basic network security concepts. An understanding of one of the following operating systems.
• Microsoft Windows 2000, 2000 advanced, 2003 Standard, 2003 Enterprise Edition or Windows XP.
• RedHat Enterprise Linux AS or RedHat Enterprise Linux ES.
• SuSE Linux Enterprise Server.
