Course Overview This Boot Camp was developed by the WebSphere Portal experts from the Laboratory in Boeblingen, Germany based on experiences from the field. The course is designed against and uses WebSphere Portal V6. Nevertheless most of the concepts presented in here apply to WebSphere Portal V5.1 as well. Skills Gained This class will feature in-depth classroom lectures on performance of WebSphere Portal hands-on labs and case studies. Information on best practices regarding the operational aspects of WebSphere Portal as well as on how to create high-performance WebSphere Portal applications is provided. Commonly available tools and several standard software tools for performance measurement, analysis and problem determination work are presented and used during the labs and case studies. Prerequisites Good administration skills and familiarity with WebSphere Portal will be important for success in this class. Some familiarity with application development and performance work within Java will be important for the labs and case studies. Rational Application Developer will be used here.
