Course Overview

The course will give attendees awareness of the capabilities of switches at layers two and three and routers. Specifically, those attending the course will configure and troubleshoot switching topics such as VLANs, the Spanning Tree Protocol (including its advanced features), HSRP and security features. For the routing section of the course, attendees will configure and troubleshoot OSPF, EIGRP and RIP networks, and also cover topics such as BGP and route redistribution."

Audience

Those who are responsible for the day to day maintenance of Cisco switches and routers and those who wish to understand or review the design of their current network.

Prerequisites

  • Delegates must have the CCNA qualification or the equivalent knowledge, as detailed in the outline for the Managing Cisco Network Devices course. Good familiarity with the IOS and knowledge of layer 2 switching and dynamic routing protocols will be useful
  • the course will examine switching at layers 2 and 3 as well as dynamic routing protocols such as EIGRP and OSPF in some depth, amongst other topics detailed in the course outline.!
