Course Overview

This five-day instructor-led course provides database business intelligence developers working in enterprise environments with the knowledge and skills to design a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence infrastructure. The course uses the Microsoft Official Curriculum and focuses on the core modules from the four courses that make up the MCITP: Business Intelligence certification track. Additional work will be required from delegates during this course should they wish to achieve certification.

Audience

This course is intended for current professional database BI Developers who have on-the-job experience implementing SQL Server BI solutions in an enterprise environment

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have attended the following courses or possess the equivalent level of knowledge:
  • Course 2791: Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services
  • Course 2792: Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services.
  • Course 2793: Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.

Module 1: Introduction to Business Intelligence Architecture

In this module, students will learn about key design principles that should be considered when scoping a BI solution, and about the components of the back end and front end of a BI solution, so that they can design and develop appropriate BI solutions for organisations.
