Course Overview

Implementing CiscoWorks LMS (CWLMS) v3.0 teaches learners how to use the CiscoWorks applications contained in the LAN Management Solution (LMS) 3.0 bundle. The focus is on finding the correct tools within CiscoWorks to document the network, log changes that occur, deploy global changes to devices, monitor network performance, and manage network faults.The labs are designed with learners sharing two CiscoWorks servers set up in a multi-server trust environment

Completion of this course will give delegates the skills to:

  • Describe fundamental network concepts and introduce the applications contained in CiscoWorks LMS 3.0
  • Prepare the various CiscoWorks applications for use
  • Use CiscoWorks Campus Manager to view and troubleshoot network devised, end user, host, and IP phone connections, and diagnose VLAN connectivity problems and deploy VLAN updates
  • Use CiscoWorks RME to document the network, log changes, archive configurations and software images, and deploy updates.
  • Monitor performance in the network using IPM and response time
  • Manage network faults using CiscoWorks DFM
  • Use CiscoView to monitor and configure a device, use CiscoWorks Device Centre to troubleshoot a device with shortcuts to many reports and applications loaded on the local server, and use the CiscoWorks Assistance workflows to troubleshoot device problems
  • Deploy CiscoWorks and perform CiscoWorks system administration tasks to ensure that the server runs smoothly

Prerequisites

Delegates are required to meet the following prerequisites:

  • Knowledge of basic Cisco IOS commands, Cisco Catalyst operating system commands, and TCP/IP
  • Basic Microsoft Windows and internet Browser navigation skills
  • Basic e-mail usage skills
