CSDE provides delegates with hands-on practice in determining business requirements for a SAN solution, identifying the relevant technical issues to be solved, developing options and designing a viable, cost-effective SAN solution.

Skills Gained

To design reliable, scalable SAN fabrics that meet a specified set of business and technical requirements:

  • Given access to customer environments, documentation, and personnel, the delegate will be able to assess user requirements for SAN reliability, availability, performance, security and scalability, so that the assessment can be used as the basis for a storage networking solution
  • Given a set of storage networking requirements, the delegate will be able to design a multiprotocol SAN fabric configuration using Cisco storage networking platforms, so that the configuration provides the required levels of high availability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness
  • Given a set of storage networking requirements and access to an optical networking specialist, the delegate will be able to design a remote SAN connectivity solution, so that the configuration provides the required levels of high availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Given a set of storage networking requirements, the delegate will be able to design a management infrastructure for Cisco storage networking platforms, so that the management infrastructure provides the appropriate levels of availability and security, and integrates with the customers in-house management systems.
