Upgrading your Enterprise JavaBeans skills to EJB3

Course Overview

The new EJB 3 specification is included as part of Java Enterprise Edition 5 (JEE 5) and is a major step forward, both in terms of facilities and ease of development. This course provides you with the necessary skills and techniques to upgrade your existing EJB (1.x - 2.x) development skills to EJB 3, Sun's new enterprise framework for building scalable, robust and secure applications.

You will gain knowledge of the new features in EJB 3, enabling you to realise the productivity gains over and above earlier versions of EJB. Throughout the course you will be learning how to use these exciting new features to build enterprise applications. Options for upgrading and coexisting with your existing codebase will be examined.

The course is presented as a mixture of lectures and hands-on exercises with an emphasis towards the practical sessions:

Prerequisites

• Delegates with no, or little, EJB experience should attend the QA course, "Enterprise Java Beans Workshop" before attending this course.
