Course Overview

This course introduces delegates to the concepts of relational databases and provides an in-depth look at SQL in the SQL*Plus environment in order to retrieve and manipulate data from an Oracle database. This course is suitable for Oracle8, 8i and 9i.

Audience

Programmers, support staff and power users who wish to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the Oracle Structured Query Language is used.

Skills Gained

  • Describe the basic structure of a relational database
  • Use the command line features of SQL*Plus
  • Create SQL statements to select data from an Oracle Database
  • Generate simple reports from selected data
  • Use SQL*Plus control and run time parameters

Prerequisites
