WebSphere Transformation Extender Advanced Transformation Techniques

This course provides a detailed examination of transformation process design and methodology using WebSphere Transformation Extender. The course is designed for existing Transformation Extender users who are actively involved in data transformation projects using WebSphere Transformation Extender.

• In addition to its data transformation capabilities for complex data, WebSphere Transformation Extender also provides thorough data validation, packaging, and routing. This includes packaging data in Zip or Tar files, sending data as an attachment to an email, and automatically writing data to an FTP server.
• This course describes the techniques, tools, and recommended practices that can be used to take advantage of WebSphere Transformation Extender capabilities while maintaining optimum performance. Topics include type tree design techniques to improve validation and simplify mapping, use of advanced functions to solve complex transformation processes, and creating custom reports from audit logs.

• Audience

  This course is designed for experienced WebSphere Transformation Extender users who are responsible for designing, troubleshooting, and tuning data transformations using WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.1.

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, students should complete course DX636 or SW110, WebSphere Transformation Extender Fundamentals of Data Transformation, and have the following experience:

• Solid understanding of data formats and processing logic
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Windows
• At least 3 months of mapping and type tree design experience
