Course Overview

The IBM Maximo for Utilities with Work Crews course is designed to augment the IBM Maximo Enterprise Suite (IBM Maximo) T&D functionality, which:

  • Provides a standards-based means for designers and engineers to estimate labor, materials, and other resources to complete construction work
  • Captures the costs of doing the work and provides the means to properly record those costs from an accounting standpoint .

Audience

The target audience for this course is anyone who will be using the IBM MXES Transmission & Distribution solution.

Skills Gained

After completing this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain how other Maximo applications interact with the TnD applications
  • Navigate the Maximo TnD applications
  • Explain the basic functions of the fields in the Maximo CU Library (TnD) application
  • Create CUs sufficient to perform a CU estimate
  • Create a CU estimate
  • Version a CU estimate
  • Create stations for a CU estimate
  • Add CUs to each station
  • Review costs for a CU estimate
  • Create a work order for a CU estimate
  • Accept a CU estimate
  • Create a work crew
  • Assign a work crew

Prerequisites

Participants must have an understanding of the basic concepts of Work Order/Work Management, Contracts, and Assignment Manager in IBM Maximo 6.

Course Outline

The goal of this course is to teach participants how to use the IBM MXES Transmission & Distribution solution to perform compatible unit estimations.
