Course Overview This course contributes to gaining competence on the individual qualifications & experience criterion prescribed in the ACOP but it does not in itself qualify delegates as CDM Co-ordinators Audience This course is targeted predominantly at those who practice presently as Planning Supervisors and can be used as a stepping stone in their career path to become a CDM Co-ordinator. The course also offers a good awareness of responsibilities for clients, designers, contractors. Course Outline Delegates will cover the topics below, so that at the end of the course, they will be able to: - Appreciate the significance of competence & adequacy of resourcing issues.
- Identify with the procedures for co-ordination, co-operation & communication.
- Understand the main requirements of the CDM regulations as they apply to designers, clients, coordinators & contractors.
- Determine the content & examine critically the component parts of a safety plan.
- Understand the co-ordination required in the design process, in particular design inherent safety.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of risk assessment as it applies to construction, particularly within the role of designer and to be able to coordinate and assess risk assessments provided by others.
- Understand the content required and function of the health & safety file.
- Provide advice to clients on their legal duties and enable them to discharge.
