Course Overview This practical and participative course is aimed at those who are experienced in their job and who now also require the skills and confidence to train others. The course will look at the design and delivery of training both in a training room environment and online. Audience Experienced trainers looking to train others. The course is not aimed at generalist full-time trainers. Skills Gained Plan training on company products and methods using experience and company guidelines. Deliver effective training both one-to-one and in small groups. Design training support material that will be used back in the workplace. Confirm that learning has been effective and accommodates company requirements. Develop personal confidence and enjoyment of delivering training. Course Outline - Principles of Training: the basic principles that underpin effective learning and learning motivation.
- Content from Experience: recognise the difference between the essential knowledge and skills of a competent job holder and those of a more experienced high performer; establish training content to meet training objectives without overkill.
- Planning Training Delivery: breaking down a training programme and an individual training session into ?digestible chunks?; organise them into a logical and motivational sequence; plan the method of delivery for different learning preferences of individuals.
- Effective Delivery: delegates will practise working within a small group; they will also deliver both a one-to-one and a small-group training session to develop personal style; both tutor and peers will give constructive developmental feedback. Video recordings will not be taken except by prior request.
- Training and Compliance: assess competence; recognise where effective training fits into company quality systems; design and use competency measurement and plan for consistency.
- Action Plan: much of this four-day programme will be applied to delegates? real-work training issues; a final action planning session will help prioritise the practical application of the new learning.
