Course Overview

Risk Management is recognised as a key competence by delivery based organisations. Professional credentials have become increasingly more important, so individuals and organisations alike are now seeking formal demonstration of these credentials through accredited examinations. This 1-day event prepares candidates for the APM’s Level 1 Certificate in Risk Management and presents the opportunity to sit the exam.

Audience

Anyone in a project environment who wants to formally demonstrate risk management capability. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Project and Risk Management (equivalent to APMP level) and ideally have attended a 2-day Project Risk Analysis and Management training event.

Examinations

This 1-day event prepares candidates for the APM’s Level 1 Certificate in Risk Management and presents the opportunity to sit the exam.

  • Practice with APM sample paper
  • Review of Exam Syllabus including:
  • Risk Attitudes (Seeking, Avoidance, Neutral)
  • Cultural Influences of Attitude to Risk
  • Heuristics
  • Contents of a Risk Management Plan
  • Risk Identification Techniques
  • Risk Analysis with the PI Grid and Monte Carlo Simulation
  • Contents of a Risk Analysis Report
  • Assessment Techniques (Decision Trees, PERT, Sensitivity Analysis)
  • Review of Different Probability Distributions and Features
  • Calculation of Mean, Mode, Median and variance
  • Calculation of NPV and IRR
  • Strategies for getting reluctant owners to Manage Risks
  • Process for Regular Risk Reporting
  • Risk Owners
  • Practice examination
  • Examination (1 hour at about 2:30pm)
