Course Overview
This highly interactive, 2-day course will provide individuals with coaching and practice questions in order to prepare themselves for the specific requirements of the Project Management Professional certification exam or the Certified Associate in Project ManagementT exam.
The attainment of accreditations offered by professional bodies such as the Project Management Institute (PMI) is increasingly seen as a recognised indicator of competence in project management.
Delegates should note they are required to apply directly to the PMI to register for the examination, which will normally be sat at an approved on-line testing centre shortly after attending the workshop.
This intensive two-day workshop combines short tutorials, discussions and exercises which together provide ideal examination preparation. Delegates will have the opportunity to raise and address issues of personal concern.
Audience
This workshop is aimed at experienced project managers who wish to adopt a fast-track approach to preparing for the PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) examination. It is based on the nine knowledge areas defined in the PMBOK Guide 2000 Edition and includes exercises and sample examination questions.

By the end of the course, delegates will have:
- Established how the 5 process groups and professional responsibility requirements form the framework for the examination.
- Established how each specific process and activity relate to each other.
- Understood how to interpret all the major PMI(R) definitions and acronyms.
- Practiced and understood the Exam's format and typical questions.
- Acquired the knowledge and understanding necessary in order to prepare a personal study plan for the PMP(R) Exam.

Prerequisites
This course is aimed at people who already have a working knowledge of Project Management principles, practices, tools and techniques and wish to sit the PMP and/or CAPMT exam. Please note that the PMI defines experiential and academic prerequisites for both its' PMP and CAPMT exams. Delegates should visit the certification section of the PMI website ( www.pmi.org ) to check on these prerequisites and consider on-line application for the exam before the course begins.
The PMI requires that candidates for the PMP examination must:
- have received 35 hours of classroom project management training, and
- either hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) together with 4,500 hours of project management experience in the last 6 years, or have 7,500 hours of project management experience in the last 8 years
