Course Overview The Practitioner Certificate in Test Management is based on the ISEB syllabus. It extends the knowledge gained in the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing. This course is suitable for those who are expecting to be actively involved in the management of any aspect of software testing. The course has six main parts: - Risk Management;
- Test Management;
- Test Techniques, Test Types & Test Coverage Selection;
- Test Tool Selection & Implementation;
- People Skills; and
- Test Process Improvement.
Audience This practitioner level qualification in test management is aimed at all testing practitioners who hold the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing, but particularly those with an interest in test management. A testing practitioner is anyone involved in software testing. This includes: - Testers;
- Test analysts;
- Test engineers;
- Test consultants;
- Test managers;
- User acceptance testers; and
- Software developers.
Skills Gained The objectives of this course are: - To prepare candidates for the examination for the Practitioner Certificate in Test Management based on the ISEB syllabus;
- To extend understanding of software test management - its practical application and key components - and to enhance awareness of issues and constraints around software test management.
The objectives of the qualification are to extend the content of the ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate syllabus in Software Testing, and build directly on the topics in the areas of Test Management covered in the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing syllabus. Prerequisites Candidates are required to hold the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing. In addition it is strongly recommended by the syllabus board that candidates also have at least 18 months experience in Software Testing and take an accredited course. Course Outline This course is a three-day tutor-led course using a mixture of slide presentations, lectures and practical exercises. The qualification is assessed by means of a two hour essay-style examination, which is scheduled quarterly and administered by ISEB. An optional revision day, scheduled approximately a week before the examination, is also provided at an additional cost. Risk Management - Risk Identification;
