Course Overview The Backup Exec 12 for Windows Servers: Administration course suite is designed for the data protection professional tasked with backing up and restoring critical data and vaulting the media on which backup data is stored. This 5-day, instructor-led, hands-on class covers how to backup, restore, and vault data. Students will also learn how to configure storage devices, manage media, and troubleshoot Backup Exec. Students also learn to work with add-on agents and options which expand Backup Exec's core functionality. Audience This course is for system administrators, system engineers, technical support personnel, consultants, network administrators, backup administrators, backup operators, and others who are responsible for installing, configuring, and administering Backup Exec 12. Skills Gained By the end of this course, you should be able to: - Describe the basic functions of Backup Exec.

Prerequisites You should have working knowledge of administration and configuration of the Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 platforms, and you should have experience configuring server software and hardware. Knowledge of domain security and experience with Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista are recommended. Knowledge of MS-SQL Server is beneficial, but not necessary.
