Course Overview

This course provides you with a comprehensive understanding of business continuity management (BCM). On completion of the course, you will be able to successfully implement, manage and maintain a business continuity programme within your organisation. By understanding the processes involved in BCM, you will also be better prepared to review and audit any existing programme.

The course is compatible with BS 25999, the UK Government's ITIL Guides to BCM, and aligned with the Business Continuity Institute's (BCI) ten certification standards.

This course has been classified as IT Technical Training.

Audience

Anyone with responsibility for implementing and maintaining a BCM programme within their own or another organisation.

Skills Gained

This course will enable delegates to:

  • Identify the critical activities of an organisation
  • Evaluate the impact of not being able to perform those critical activities
  • Develop, implement and manage plans, procedures and teams to protect an organisation
  • Understand how to manage the entire BCM programme

Examinations

  • The exam, administered by ISEB, will be sat on the final day of the course.
  • This will be a three hour closed book written exam, comprising two sections. The first section will consist of 10 multiple choice questions and six short answer questions covering the core areas of the syllabus. The second section will contain essay style questions based on a scenario.
  • Candidates will need to achieve 65% in section 1 and 65% in the exam overall in order to pass.

This course is delivered by an ISEB accredited training provider.

Prerequisites

  • Although there are no formal prerequisites, delegates should be familiar with Risk Management.
  • Delegates may consider the following courses prior to attending this: Management of Risk Certificate [MOR] : ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Information Risk Management [PCIRM] : IT Service Continuity Management Practitioner [ITSCM] .
