Course Overview

This course has been classified as Business Skills.

Lean and Six Sigma, both proven business improvement approaches, provide businesses with the ability to maximise customer, employee and shareholder value by minimising process variation and operational waste.

This Practitioner Green Belt Conversion course provides participants with the necessary tools and techniques to become a Certified Practitioner Green Belt and to deliver both process and statistically based improvement. It provides a hands-on learning experience that develops both the technical knowledge and personal skills not covered in the Foundation Green Belt course.

The course uses a blend of theory and practical exercises to ensure that participants have the confidence and capability to deliver more complex statistically biased improvement projects. Participants are introduced to Minitab software and Microsoft Excel functions that will assist them in determining the cause and effect of business defects and process variation.

Notes

Together with Foundation Green belt, this is a modular component of the Practitioner Green Belt. These green belt modules can then be added to with Black Belt Conversion to compose Practitioner black Belt.

Audience

Foundation Green Belts who have demonstrated the necessary skills and aptitude to handle more challenging quantitative projects.

Skills Gained

Participants should be experienced in qualitative process analysis as these are enhanced with new tools and approaches that support a quantitative problem solving approach. Successful participants upon completion will have the capability to analyse more complex business opportunities and to deliver larger business solutions/benefits.

  • Scope business improvement projects including the development of project charters.
  • Manage and determine stakeholder requirements.
  • Define and develop accurate and relevant measurement tools.
  • Analyse business processes both quantitatively and qualitatively.
