Skills Gained The course covers the subject of Software Asset Management within the boundaries of ITIL. Examinations Professional Qualifications The course prepares delegates for the ISEB Certificate in Software Asset Management Essentials examination, which is a pre-requisite for candidates wishing to attend the more advanced Practioner level SAM course. The examination, taken at the end of the third day, will consist of a one-hour multiple choice, closed book paper of 40 questions. ITIL (R) is a Registered Trademark of The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) Prerequisites Candidates with a reasonable knowledge of software asset management can attend this Foundation level course. This course does not require you to hold previous certifications, although any introduction into ITIL as a framework would be helpful. Course Outline This course is delivered by one of three leading consultants within Infrasolve. - Roles & responsibilities - A guide through all roles associated with good SAM
- Policies and processes - Overall management processes, core asset management, logistics processes, verification & compliance and relationship processes
- Implementing SAM - All cyclical stages of implementing SAM included - preparation - getting there, staying there, and proving you can stay there
- Tools & techniques - Understanding all methods and technical applications available to support any SAM system
- SAM Reporting - A look at the kind of reports and their content in order to support the business requirements i.e. financial, compliance or operational.
- Mapping SAM to ITIL - A closer look at how SAM as a subject links to other areas of ITIL and the overall importance of running strong inventories when setting up an ITIL framework.
