Course Overview Lean and Six Sigma, both proven business improvement approaches, provide businesses with the ability to maximise customer, employee and shareholder value by minimising process variation and operational waste. This course provides participants with a foundation in the tools and techniques required to lead and deliver Lean Six Sigma projects. Through a hands-on learning experience participants develop both the technical knowledge and the personal skills required to deliver process analysis, improvement and management using the DMAIC methodology. The course has been designed to develop the confidence of participants to actively engage in improvement projects and as a modular component of Practitioner Green Belt (LSS103) and Practitioner Black Belt (LSS105). This course has been classified as Business Skills. Audience All staff expected to take part in improvement projects in their work place. This course has been designed to create knowledgeable process improvement practitioners. They will have the capability to actively participate in the analysis of business opportunities and the delivery of business solutions. As a part time role they will be expected to engage in process improvement activities within their own area or an adjacent area of the business. Skills Gained This course will enable delegates to: - Understand how Project Charters are developed and how they are used to scope and manage business improvement projects.
- Identify Stakeholders, their requirements and motivations.
- Understand the concept of Customer Value and how it is the core of Six Sigma improvement plans.
- Understand the need to define and develop accurate and relevant measurement tools.
- Know how to analyse business processes qualitatively.
- Identify, quantify and select the most suitable solutions.
- Enhance the control of business processes and understand the cultural issues surrounding process change.
Prerequisites Delegates may already have an awareness of Lean and Six Sigma; and ideally be participating in improvement activity or have an improvement project defined which they are expected to complete post training. Follow On Courses No follow-on courses have been defined Notes Together with Green belt Conversion [LSS106] this is a modular component of the Practitioner Green Belt [LSS103]. These green belt modules can then be added to with Black Belt Conversion [LSS107] to compose Practitioner black Belt [LSS105].
