Course Overview

This course prepares learners for troubleshooting deployment scenarios that may be encountered when managing a MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 environment. Learners are introduced to the Citrix Troubleshooting Methodology, which is used as the basis for investigating issues that arise in IMA and data store communication, load management, client connectivity, printing and environments that utilize the Web Interface and the Secure Gateway.

Audience

This course is intended for leaners who have intermediate MetaFrame Presentation Server administration skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003, including Active Directory.

Skills Gained

Upon successful completion of this course, students are able to perform the following:

  • Identify the standardized troubleshooting methodology
  • Identify the troubleshooting areas to investigate in a non-functioning MetaFrame Presentation
  • Server, Web Interface or Secure Gateway environment, based on evident symptoms
  • Utilize the tools necessary to investigate the issue
  • Provide an accurate analysis of the results of the investigation
  • Take corrective action to find a resolution to the issue and document the results of any successful troubleshooting actions

Prerequisites

It is recommended that learners have experience using either Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or

Windows Server 2003, including the following:

  • An understanding of DNS and Active Directory
  • The ability to create policies and profiles
  • The ability to administer users, home directories, user profiles and security

It is also recommended that learners attend the following instructor-led training course:

Examinationes

CTX-1252AI prepares candidates for Exam 252 Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0: Troubleshooting

Enterprise Environments. Exam 252 will be part of an updated set of Citrix Certified Enterprise

Administrator (CCEA) requirements that will be announced in mid-January 2005. This exam will not replace any current CCEA requirements, but will instead form a new path towards CCEA certification.
