Course Overview

This course elaborates on the IT Enterprise Architecture (ICEA) course, focussing on the practical application of the knowledge to a case study. By means of a series of sessions and exercises, delegates are shown how to create a set of IT Architectural deliverables (views) in the following areas:

  • Architectural pre-cursors
  • Business, Data, Application and Infrastructure architecture
  • Governance of architectural activity

The primary aims of this and the related certificate are to give Enterprise and Solution Architects a broad framework that covers the range of architecture work that precedes and steers system development, and to focus attention on areas where the architect is responsible for effective design and risk management. Delegates will also practice application of relevant process and techniques through a case study, adopting aspects of Zachman and TOGAF to achieve this.

This course has been classified as IT Technical Training.

Audience

This course and qualification is aimed at practising Architects or students, with a recommended six or more years experience of IS/IT work including some architecture definition.

Skills Gained

Delegates will learn to:

  • demonstrate a practical understanding of the concepts covered in the Intermediate Certificate.
  • demonstrate that they can apply this to specific circumstances.
  • produce deliverables in architecture pre-cursors: goals, directives and scope.
  • produce architecture descriptions for business, data, applications and infrastructure architectures.

Examinations

  • The course prepares delegates wishing to gain the ISEB Practitioner Certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture.
  • Delegates must hold the Intermediate Certificate in Enterprise and Solutions Architecture to be eligible to sit this.
