Course Overview

This Fast Track course is aimed at delivering the content of the five-day CompTIA Server+ course and two-day Servicing HP Blade Systems course in a five day intensive format. All of the necessary courseware is provided.

The Server+ certification credential validates advanced-level technical competency of server issues and technology, including installation, configuration, upgrading, proactive maintenance, environmental considerations, troubleshooting and disaster recovery. The CompTIA Server+ certification exam validates the knowledge and abilities of individuals with experience of Industry Standard Server Architecture (ISSA). Server+ certification establishes the test candidate's ability to install, configure, diagnose and troubleshoot server hardware and network operating systems.

Servicing HP Blade Systems develops the skills and knowledge needed to service and support HP BladeSystem products. Introduces HP BladeSystem products (p-Class and c-Class) and infrastructure, how to setup enclosures, connectivity and storage options and how to use the Onboard Administrator and ILO.

Audience

First and second level support professionals who are responsible for servicing and supporting HP Blade Systems.

Prerequisites

  • Six months Industry Standard Server experience is recommended.

  • List the features and benefits of BladeSystem.
  • Explain the process for installing the BladeSystem components.
  • Describe the technologies that supply power to the BladeSystem.
  • Identify the components of the enclosure.
  • Explain how to install and cable Onboard Administrator modules.
  • Identify the BladeSystem models.
  • Describe the steps involved in setting up the BladeSystem.
  • Describe the benefits of the Insight Control Environment suites.
  • Explain the numbering schemes for device bays, interconnect bays, and fans.
