Course Overview

The course will allow the delegate to understand the commands and mechanics of the Unix/Linux environment, manipulate shell interfaces, use the vi editor, list and manipulate system processes, communicate with other Unix users, control printing and manipulate file permissions.

Audience

Those who are completely new to the Unix/Linux environment or who wish to expand their very basic understanding of the subject. This is a generic course and is relevant for all versions of Unix including AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and all versions of Linux

Prerequisites

Delegates need no Unix knowledge, but a general familiarity with computers would be useful
