Course Overview

This five-day course is intended to make students self-sufficient in handling the day-to-day tasks involved in installing, administering, and using HP enView Performance Insight version 5.0 in a standalone(single-server) installation.

This course is taught on Windows platforms, but includes additional information needed to operate Performance Insight on a UNIX system.

Audience

Performance Insight administrators who are responsible for the day-to-day administration, and maintenance of the Performance Insight environment.

Skills Gained

  • Understand the basic operation of data collection and reporting features
  • Install OpenView Performance Insight in a Windows environment
  • Use device and type discovery capabilities
  • Administer node list, polling groups, and polling policies
  • Use and administer reports and report access features
  • Install and administer the Interface Reporting solution and Device Resources solution
  • Install and administer the Common Properties solution
  • Manage element properties
  • Schedule, generate, and view a standard report
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and understand log file entries
