Course Overview This course enables students to install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6, and to deploy enterprise Java applications in a clustered and secured configuration. Audience The target audience of this course is made up of advanced administrators who install, configure, and manage Web-based applications on WebSphere Application Server. Skills Gained - After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Describe the architectural concepts related to WAS V6
- Install and configure WebSphere Application Server and IBM HTTP Server (IHS) both interactively and silently
- Create WebSphere profiles interactively and silently
- Explain the basic concepts of the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
- Assemble and install server-side Java enterprise applications
- Use WAS administrative tools to configure and manage enterprise applications through the GUI console and through wsdamin scripts
- Configure WebSphere security registry to use LDAP
- Configure SSL communication with LDAP
- Enable Java2 security
- Configure security for server-side application resources
- Deploy applications and configure resources in clustered environments interactively and through wsadmin scripts
- Install and configure the Load Balancer Edge component
- Install and configure the Caching Proxy Edge component
- Configuring WebSphere Platform Messaging (WPM) for workload management and high-availability
Prerequisites Students should have: - A solid working knowledge of WebSphere Application Server V6 .
- Administration skills for a Web server
- Basic operational skills for the Windows 2000 and Linux operating systems
