Course Overview Every organisation manages its risks, but not always in a way that is visible, repeatable and consistently applied to support decision making. The task of managing risk is to ensure that the organisation makes cost effective use of a risk process that has a series of well defined steps. The aim is to support better decision making through a good understanding of risks and their likely impact. Management of Risk (MoR) provides new guidance of risk which can be used across an organisation. Within project and programme environments there will always be risks which need to be identified, analysed and managed. Other areas of an organisation at both strategic and operational levels will also be exposed to risks as operational and strategic functions are carried out. This course will give delegates a broad knowledge of the use and techniques of the M_o_R(R) risk management method, as laid out in the Office of Government Commerce's (OGC) guide 'Management of Risk; Guidance for Practitioners'. This course takes place over three days, including the M_o_R(R) Foundation examination. Delegates should be aware that considerable evening preparation and consolidation will be required by those that wish to pass the examination. Audience - This event will benefit managers and team members with specific responsibilities for corporate governance and the management of risk.
- It is also useful for senior executives considering the implementation of structured risk management within their organisations.
