Course Overview

Staff joining registered social landlords and new members of their governing bodies, often face difficulty with the jargon and the idiosyncrasies of presentation of financial information in the sector.

This course is aimed at staff, managers and board members, particularly those from a non-financial background who need an overview to enable them to obtain a grasp of the issues involved.

• Explanation of the financial frameworks involved, including basic accounting concepts
• The capital and grant funding regimes
• The role of private finance
• The income and expenditure account
• Reading and interpreting published financial information
